Widespread hospitality

An innovative and co-partnership model to build social inclusion and integration

In the widespread hospitality model asylum seekers are housed in different structures distributed in all the municipalities of the Province of Monza and Brianza.

This model facilitates guests in the knowledge of the territory, its services and the ways of access to them independently. It also promotes the process of social inclusion of small groups of asylum seekers within each individual community: through the relationship and mutual knowledge with individual volunteers or collaboration within associations and parishes, the asylum seeker has the opportunity to develop his or her own network of knowledge, friendships and support, feeling part of the community in which he or she lives.

Projects

SINGLE ADULT MEN

The project is developed on three different types of structure with increasing autonomy:

-Hub of first reception at the structure of Monza in via Spallanzani:
first medical-health care and
starts the legal procedure of the application for asylum
First courses of knowledge of the Italian language.
-Second reception community facilities in Monza, Camparada, Limbiate, Concorezzo, Lissone and Triuggio:
active participation in the daily management of the structure
begins the path of autonomy, knowledge of the territory, social inclusion and vocational training.
-Apartments distributed in almost all the municipalities of the province (for a total of about 700 places).
management of the apartment in semi-autonomy with the supervision and accompaniment of an operator (case manager)
continuous path of social inclusion and employment.

FAMILIES

In this case, the RTI Bonvena project is developed on two different types of structure with increasing autonomy: The family group requesting international protection is welcomed for a short period of two months in the first reception hub at the facility in Camparada and is then transferred to an apartment managed semi-autonomously with the case-manager.

Services

The service aims to assist the person in the various stages of the procedure for requesting international protection, with a view to making it autonomous and aware.

The project of social and work inclusion of each guest begins with the learning of the Italian language and the development of communicative skills in the different contexts with which the person comes into contact.

The guests are accompanied by the structuring of their own vocational training that enhances previous work experiences, skills and aspirations and makes them aware of the work context in which they will have to fit.

In addition to the basic health care services, Bonvena network has developed other care services to integrate those already present on the territory.

We believe that the practice of a sport can be an important key in the path to integration.

The Bonvena Network is committed to promoting the sports inclusion of asylum seekers in the teams of the area in which they live and to participate in various tournaments and sports initiatives

Il fondo HOPE

Thanks to the participatory management model open to all territorial realities, it was also possible to set up the Solidarity Fund Hope, which provides useful resources to promote actions, not required by the ministerial call, but fundamental to give a serious opportunity for integration, like subsidies for autonomy and especially vocational training (courses and job grants).

In more than five years of activity, from 2014 to April 2019, the Hope Fund has involved more than 150 companies, about twenty vocational training institutions and accompanied almost 2500 men and women in social integration and employment integration.
